Concept board Final Dress!!
Monday: April 27th, 2015.
Hey guys!It's Jackie here. I haven't posted in a while, because I had surgery, and i've been recovering and catching up with school work. I just wanted to share with you, how back when I first started my blog I talked about concept boards. I had a thought about dark meets light. I took a Saturday class at Moore College and it was fashion essentials boot camp. We had to create a concept board. I just used everything white and black photography like outdoor nature type things that called out to me.
It started with a sketch.
After this I created a dress pattern, using a simple bodest and simple skirt, matching my measurements.
Then I created a muslin prototype, which isn't finished in the picture.
Don't mind the shoes^ and you can see the sleeves and other pieces around the edges weren't finished.
Next I got white canvas fabric from fabric row off of south street and squeezey bottle fabric paint from AC Moore to create my fabric.
After I finished the fabric painitng, it changed it into a leather feeling, completely changing the fabric.
Then the fashion show came.
Here are me and some of my friends of the class and their finished creations as well as mine.
It's a one of a kind Jackie Kensey orignal and I created everything about it. The design, pattern, fabric, everything. And all sewed together by me as well.
These were the pictures I shared on my social media pages as well. I've made other things like pajamas, bags, wallets, pillows, skirts, tons of things, but this was a one of a kind orignal. That had my thought, emotion, feeling, everything, and I just had to share it with everyone.
As well as my lovely aunt understood. For my 18th birthday she made me a red velvet cake and created the cake to match my dress. Which I adored, completely.
The cake tasted amazing too by the way. My mom also forgot to get candles and we had to use a tea light candle! haha. I love tea light candles anyway.
There will be plenty more creations by me coming soon. I sometimes share things I created on my personal facebook page and sometimes other social media. The things i'm most proud of I will definetly update you guys! Since you'll be seeing my clothes on a runway and on a rack one day!
