Mock up bag/production
Thursday: May 2nd, 2017.
I've been doing the Parsons X Teen Vogue course officially for one year about to get my certificate and be certified in this online fashion course for my resume. And this blog post is about mock ups and costs to create mock ups. In this section they want us to create a mock up bag. Not to bad at all. To make a prototype which is the mock up you can just to muslin fabric. Since the mock up will show you how much you need to create the thing you desire to makeup. And muslin is a cheap inexpensive fabric.Muslin is a creamy tan colored rougher fabric material, great for sturdiness and prototype to see how your garment should effectively work for cheap. Costing only about a dollar to two dollars a yard.
To create a boho styled bag would take about two yards for outside lining and inside lining, including straps and the shapes to have it go deep down and fit a lot in. If you use muslin fabric for production costs the bag could sell for like $10 but with nicer fabric you can get it around $20-$25 always a thing to think about.
This is the official bag. The boho bag.
This is how the plan of production works. From the planning stage, to spent money, to money earned from the real deal. It is how you get through in this industry. The big picture.
Now I hope you all like my fashion involved posts for this teen vogue parsons course that is coming to a end, but the fashion posts will never stop. Being a freshman in college for fashion, we're working on a project called rair which I can do an article on and after that I'll do one on the next project as well as future projects.
Thank you all for reading and listening, hope you learned something!
Love always,
Jackie Kensey XX
