Helping out at Miss Amazing 2018!

Wednesday: March 7th, 2018.

Over the weekend I recently volunteered and helped out with an amazing organization known as, Miss Amazing. Their motto is "We envision a world where girls and women with disabilities have equal opportunities to reach their fullest potential."

The Miss Amazing pageant is a pageant that supports girls and their disabilities. Their pageant helps to create a sisterhood with girls whom have things in common with having a disability and not letting that stop them from reaching their full potential in life.

Over the past weekend my family and I had volunteered with the Miss Amazing pageant in Pennsylvania. It was an amazing experience. The beginning of the event we were paired up with our buddies and my mother and I had the opportunity to pair up with a beautiful girl named Kassie. We got to practice routines with her from onstage and interview.

After rehearsal we headed back to the dressing room to get the girls ready for interviews! I set up a make up station and did a bunch of make overs for the girls. We had make overs from natural looks, to sparkles and glam, and even some cat eye liner, it was whatever the girl wanted I had helped them achieve with doing make overs. The girls had tons of fun getting their hair and makeup done.

After this we had some down time and amazing people donated snacks and all for us and the girls loved the chance to relax after interviews before the big show. My dad actually was out in the lobby helping to sell and collect tickets, helping out at the stands with other volunteers. He was a helping hand while we were buddies.

After all of this we had an amazing time escorting our buddy, Kassie, onto stage for the opening act, introduction, talent(optional), formal wear, crowning, and closing number.

We had an amazing experience to help it at Miss Amazing. We got to meet, socialize with plenty of girls who are doing amazing things in their lives and communities with volunteer work, modeling and more! And being a pageant girl myself, there for motivation and help it was a great experience and that no one should let their disabilities get in the way of doing whatever they want in life.

Be a Buddy

Are you an attentive and supportive friend? Then you would make a perfect Miss Amazing Buddy! As a Buddy, you’ll be paired up with a participant and act as her official Miss Amazing guide. Even more, she could turn out to be one of your most supportive lifelong friends. Buddies must be at least 13 years old and available for the entirety of the Miss Amazing event. Experience working with people with disabilities is highly preferred, but not a requirement to apply.
Heres a link if you're looking to volunteer: https://missamazing.org/volunteer/ There is opportunities from being a buddy, helping hand and right hand man. Even being an ambassador and bringing Miss Amazing to your own state!
