Things to do in Philly for the 4th!
Looking for things to do in Philly this 4th of July? Wanting to do more then go to the pool or a barbecue well there is always the Jersey Shore.
If you are looking for some history to celebrate this 4th of July, check out the Museum of the American Revolution. It is right off of South 3rd St. And they are even doing an Independence Day Celebration.
Free Cake day at the Independence Center! The Termini Brothers Bakery decorates a five-tier cake on-site starting at 9 a.m. on the Fourth of July. They also arrange 2,500 red, white and blue cupcakes into the shape of an American flag.
At 1 p.m., Betsy Ross will arrive with a fife-and-drum procession to lead the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" before all of the cake and cupcakes will be distributed for free.
Wawa Welcome to American Concert and Fireworks on the Parkway! From noon to 7 pm. there will be food, music and things for kids to do with acrobatic dunkers, bungee jumping, games, arts & crafts, storytelling and face painting, as well as a zip-line, too.
Then starting at 7 pm, the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert begins. This year's headliners are Jennifer Hudson and Meghan Trainor. And this concert is FREE. It is right on the parkway
!
All of this is fun stuff to do in Philly this 4th of July, you can grab food and drinks, enjoy this concert from your TV at home or come down and experience the show and fireworks for free! We love to hear the word free.
If all else fails check out your local mall and stores for 4th of July specials and sales for some amazing retail shopping deals. Or even check our your local neighborhood 4th of July Parades and local schools/parks who will be showing fireworks this evening. Make sure to stay cool and treat yourself to some ice-cream or Rita's this holiday.
