First Semester ART WORK

Wednesday: December 14th, 2016

If you guys have noticed, i've sort of been M.I.A. (missing in action) lately. I've been busy with my first semester at college. If you guys did not know i'm at Moore College of Art and Design, first year, fashion major. I took a big course load of 5 foundation classes, 3 of the 5 being 6 hours each. These courses included: drawing, writing, art history, design, and visual thinking. I passed my first semester with all A's and B's. And i'll be attending the Greece study abroad trip this January, for two weeks. Now this is what i've been doing these past few months keeping me busy.

If you guys are interested in what I did this semester stay tuned.

Here is my Design Blog, with tons of stuff I have done this semester.

The blog contains photos of work I did, research, videos, animations, ect.

I'll post some of my design work here first.

The short story I wrote that folded into a book to go along with my short animation seen below.

Visual Thinking we had 3 big projects. We had a final project followed along with a pdf that included our thought and learning process from beginning to end.

First I had created a simple textile piece for:
Wilderness/Wildness.

Next was my video piece that was previously posted on this blog that most of you have seen already. I post about my endometriosis & pcos.

Last but not least for visual thinking, I painted my blue nude over receipts for Systems.

Next for writing, besides writing papers we got creative.
First paper was on Petrarch's poetry, next paper was all on victorian fashion in the dorian gray era. After that is where creativity began.
The 3rd paper was to describe the three women we have met and read about so far this semester so I took Laura from Petrarch, Sybil Vane from Dorian Gray, and Katherine "The Shrew" from Taming of the Shrew, and designed them in outfits they would wear in their time period.

Next We did a apple paper. It was based off of Gertrude Stein language of describing things. Our task was to make a apple. So I made it fashion related. I drew out a apple girl, a girl with a apple shape. She could not find anything to fit her shape, but then she does. Described in this photo and 3d doll of her.

Also i took art history, all we did was quiz's and a final project, mine was on body forms in art through past periods.

Last class was foundation drawing. This consisted of tons of practice work and final pieces, form pencil to charcoal. Objects to portraits, everything. If you have me on facebook, you may have seen some of these.

You start to notice how much I progressed in drawing this semester, from the beginning, to the end. Also how much I progressed from my previous years, of what was in my portfolio.

Now this was my portfolio blog post for my first semester of work at Moore College of Art and Design. And if you were missing my posts, now you know why, since this is only part of the stuff I've been busy with this semester!
