Retail Store Layout
Saturday, February 25th, 2017.
For my Parsons X Teen Vogue course they are always giving me amazing blog posts to write. Including this one. Do you ever walk into a retail store and notice displays through out the store or window displays. Like Urban is known for their window displays. But what about a store lay out? I decided to look into Kohl's, being a huge retail store I love as well as being the store I work at. For different sections we have clothing displays. In juniors we have the candies models with the candies clothes displays. At the moment we have a clothing display of models representing Beauty and The Beast up front of our store when you first walk in the parking lot doors. Then in front of the mall doors we change the displays a lot but recently we had a nike sports display. In our sections like in misses we have Lauren Conrad, Vera Wang, and Jennifer Lopez displays too. We also have dressing rooms per each section such as mens, young mens, juniors, kids, misses, plus and petites misses, and intimates. We also put sales racks per each section, since the store is so huge we can not fit sales racks in just one section. For each section I named previously for fitting rooms, we have sales racks for that, plus more. Our mannequin section, in misses we have a sales rack just for womens and then the other side is the Sonoma, vera, etc racks. Then we have a sales rack for plus size, another for petites, then you head further down and theres ones for older misses brands, after that you reach athletic sales. These racks are labeled by percents off such as 70%, 80%, etc. They are also put in size order from womens to xlarge. The particular kohl's I work at is just huge. It is so weird thinking of how many kohl's there is and how different they could be or similar and the placement of things, the sections cut off by designers are the same at all kohl's. The particular display I think work well is how they will put a display in front of a section, for instance Lauren Conrad. You see her clothes on the models they have displayed for her clothing items and it brings you in to want to see more of it, since you see the style and you may like the way it fits the model and wondering if it will fit you the same way. It draws your attention in. Recently a lady saw a model in AB Studio and it was wearing these stretchy work pants and she wanted my help to find the pants for her in the section since she noticed it on display. That is how displays work and are helpful to bringing the consumer in. Since you see what you may find in this section on display.
You can even find store layouts on google!!
Love always,
