Your Journey to wear the CROWN
Pageants: February 20th, 2015.

I decided to start this off with a quote about confidence. Pageants help carve a girl into a women on who she is based on confidence. I have been doing pageants for a few years now. The girls i met are devine. It's about inner beauty and how you present yourself as a women, not all about the outside. It has to do with your grades and academics. What makes you YOU. That's why i chose the topic of pageants today. Pageants aren't what you see on tv, like toddlers and tiaras for example, that's a glitz pageant. The pageants i'm refering to are scholarship based pageants like NAM, Antso, Miss outstandstanding teen, Miss Universe and more! And everyone's favorite Miss America. I've competed in difference pageant programs. Some i left with a crown and trophy others i didn't. It all depends on how you present yourself from the inside. Most of your scores are based on your interview, which involves inter beauty. Fashion just isn't about what you present on the outside. It's also about what you present on the inside. A ugly personality makes a ugly person. Like for instance you may think someone is unattractive, they end up being the sweetest person ever and their looks start to become perfect to you. Then you might think someone is so mean and their looks become ugly to you. Like for instance a tweet Amber Rose made today "People make mistakes in life trust me, I have. When you bully other people and you're not perfect it's so fucked. I own up to every piece of my life." The reason i'm refering to that is based on personalities. People who bully have ugly personalities, that isn't what pageants are looking for. They are looking for people who aren't "perfect", but present themselves as a humble person. Pageantry helps make you. And on that stage you bring it. I've done different pageants one where you wear swimsuit competitions and others that don't believe in it. They want to see what you can bring to the community as a role model. They don't want someone who parties using substances that are bad for your body such as alcohol and drugs. They want someone who is interested in community service, bringing peace, someone who helps one another, where younger people can look up to them. They will ask you what you do and why you want this. This is where you confidence comes in. And trust me when your on stage it feels like the icing to the cake. When I compete, where i throw on my dress and do my hair and makeup, i feel me more then ever. I step up and it's like a little kid walking into toys r us for the first time, the best feeling ever. It's litterally the fireworks to my Fourth of July. It's not about winning or losing, you make friends, you find your inner self, and bring it out, and you leave there being better than you were before. And YES pageant women do think. The girls i've met were some of the nicest people ever, most in honors in AP classes, they all have their futures planned, college dreams, planning our grad schools, working and more! What got me into pageants was the fashion, the behind the seens. Sherri Hill is a known dress designer for pageants and proms. Which is where i plan to take my future. I want to see these girls in the future one day wearing my dresses up there as they present their inner beauty as well as out. I love the idea. They are the perfect role models.
Again this year in May I will be competeing for the crown in Antso, which my registration and everything has been completed. Which I will be competeing in West Chester on May 2nd. Location i'm not sure yet, if anyone is willing to come out and see me! Also I just recently decided to Compete in December for Miss Teen USA PA! Which is one of the biggest pageant systems, that i competed in before, it's the Miss Universe one. Will be held for a 3day weekend December 4th, 5th, & 6th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Pittsburgh international airport! Its in Pittsburgh though. Go Steelers, my favorite team. The show includes entertainment like last time i competed, a american idol star, Tim Urban performed. It's a program to show hard work and moral values with the contestants. Building indivdual confidence and communication skills. It's about being a postivie romodel in todays society. And I will be a representive. I grew up in a world where people told me I wasn't good enough, I wasn't strong enough, that they were "better" then me, but look who didn't listen, and look whose wearing the crown now.
I just wanted to share some of my photos from some great time doing pageants for everyone. I have albums filled on facebook and if anyone wants to see more just feel free to ask. It's a great expierence. We ALL have dreams and deserve to follow our dreams. Now I hate to ask this on my fashion blog, because this is not what my blog is about.
